Melanie received her bachelors degree from Kansas State University and her master’s in Speech Language Pathology from Wichita State University. She has two grown daughters, Ella and Gracyn, and a cat named Polly. She has been a speech pathologist in the public schools for over 30 years, where in addition to her caseload, she serves as clinical educator to graduate students, supervises clinical fellowships, and provides continuing education presentations. Melanie runs her private practice, from her home in Wichita, Kansas.
Conscious Communication, LLC provides evaluations and individual therapy for all speech sound disorders (articulation, phonology, (CAS) childhood apraxia of speech) as well as in home caregiver coaching for late language emergence.
Melanie presents in the areas of supervision and ethics, and is dedicated to helping SLPs learn more about neurodiversity affirming practices, speech sound disorders, and therapy approaches.
